Bypass Oil Filter Kit and Installation /Parts Manual
Each bypass oil filter kit is a “made to fit” secondary filter system for small engines up to large diesel semi-trucks and large industrial diesel engines.

The bypass oil filter kit uses the AMSOIL EaBP filter element for the best filtration protection against engine wear and oil degradation. Cleaning oil to the lowest ISO standards, the oil filter system is installed in conjunction with the engine’s full-flow oil filter. The system operates on a “partial-flow” basis and draws approximately 10 percent of the oil pump capacity at any time. The filter element (EaBP) traps soot and microscopic contaminants down to 2 microns with 98.7% efficiency. Oil is filtered several times an hour, sending “analytically clean” continuous oil back to the engine.
All engines operate in much the same fashion. The oil pump pulls engine oil from the sump to the top of the engine, lubricating each moving part via small oil galleries. High-quality, clean motor oil is key to preventing wear, reducing friction resistance, preventing sludge buildup, and keeping temperatures within normal operating range. But a standard oil filter media often can’t perform at a standard that protects your engine fully. However, a bypass kit offers filtration that can’t be beat.
Many truck and equipment manufacturers now install a bypass filter from the factory. Tips to install your engine oil bypass filter kit
Selecting a suitable bypass oil filter kit is the first step. AMSOIL offers specialized kits for Ford 6.0L, 6.4L, and Ford 6.7 Powerstroke applications, the 6.7 Cummins engine, as well as GM 6.6L Duramax diesel engines. Most engines can have a single or a dual remote bypass filter system. A universal oil filter bypass kit is available for all other applications, including gas-powered engines.
Install the filter mount in a location protected from road debris and can be accessed easily for filter changes. Route hoses away from sharp or hot components and free from sharp bends.
Fill the bypass filter with oil before starting the engine after installation, and watch the oil pressure when the engine is started. Check for loose fittings and leaking connections
Should you desire to take samples for oil analysis, an optional petcock kit makes drawing oil samples easier than you could dream.

- The DUAL-GARD® system links two filter elements together on one mount for oil sum capacities of 7.5 -to- 12 gallons.
- Heavy-Duty Bypass system for on- and off-road applications uses a single bypass filter for heavy-duty gasoline and diesel engine oil sumps up to 15 gallons. The BMK30 system can be plumbed in series for oil sumps larger than 15 gallons.
